Welcome to “A Home Page from Wigan”

That’s me in the top-left corner, with Guinness and rugby ball.  A silver haired, winter goatee enhanced, fine figure of a lifelong pie eating chap.  Born in Wigan at home just down the road from the Carnegie Library in Pemberton and not at the nearby Billinge Hospital. Both sadly not what they once were being converted to offices and converted to a housing estate respectively.

I’ve lived in and around Wigan for all my life with just a few short times where I had to take lodgings elsewhere because of the demands of education or employment. Aye ‘appen I’m educated.

Welcome to a few pages that I’m responsible for on this great big World Wide Web of stuff, nonsense and lies.  On the pages connected to this will be some stuff, definitely some nonsense and no doubt the odd lie or mistake as the politicians like to call them.

I’ll be focusing on Wigan and surrounding areas in an attempt to educate all of you who don’t know what a wonderful place it is, was and will be.  There’ll be stuff that interests me specifically and as a personal web page is a self-indulgent thing then that’s why.  Also I’ll be putting up some family stuff for those who are unfortunate enough to live elsewhere at the moment - you’ll need to be family to access these though.

There will also be some experimental Stuff as I try out techniques and tricks of web site design.  I’ll try and not publish anything really flakey on the live site (that’s what you’re looking at now) but if it all starts going a bit “Pete Tong” then it’ll be me rather than your PC or your browser - honest.
